Part director, part producer, part weirdness enthusiast, Rob Erickson has been fascinated by the unexplained for as long as he can remember. Growing up in Central Illinois, he was introduced to the UFO phenomenon by his dad at an early age, sparking a curiosity that would stay with him throughout his life. That interest deepened after two personal sightings of unexplained objects off Florida's Gulf Coast—one at age 10 and another at 21—experiences that left him with more questions than answers and a lifelong desire to explore the mysteries of our world.
Rob lives near Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, their three children, and a household that is rarely quiet. Between family life, running a business, and pursuing his interest in all things strange, he enjoys exploring topics such as UFOs, consciousness, paranormal encounters, and the possibility that reality may be far more mysterious than we realize.
Chad is a storyteller, creative director, performer, and professional collector of things that do not quite fit anywhere else. Growing up as a young victorian boy (long story) he transitioned into a career that has taken him from culinary school to clown school to Off-Broadway stages, from Wall Street to viral museum pranks, from filming country artists to producing content for Fortune 500 companies, Chad has always been drawn to the curious, the unexpected, and the gloriously strange.
He is a theatre-trained improv comedian, an ASCAP songwriter, a drone pilot, a former Stetson cologne brand ambassador, and a weirdo who once dressed up as a 17th century Spanish king in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and got 1.7 million people to watch. Weird Kitchen is the natural segue into a life full of oddities. Pull up a chair. It is about to get strange.
Starting from a place of curiosity we know there is so much out there we can't explain, can't understand and can't even comprehend. That said, the key to any good dish is experimentation until you find just the right ingredients. As such we'll be exploring a wide swath of weird in order to stretch our minds and find the best (sound) bytes!
